This loco came to me for weathering from John Drago,i believe that it was built for John from DJB and when finished he passed it on to me, i think that the loco was a regular on the Somerset and Dorset which i know is John’s passion, didn’t turn out too bad either !!.

Just like the real thing Grimy !!

Any colour as long as its Grimy !!.

This 8F was constructed by a friend of mine Graham Powell from a David Andrews kit and then passed onto me for weathering, it was requested that the loco be portrayed in a run down condition as that before the end of steam.

Simering nicely

Can you smell the steam oil !!.

Nearlly there.

There we go 8F coulor.

Can you feel the heat.

What a lovely day for making it dirty !.

Ready for the road.

This is a Heljan R-T-R Type 3 which was passed to me for numbering and weathering and also to fit the plough’s, which i must admit is a bit of a botch, i tried the recommended way but so much material had to be taken of the brackets that they became very flimsy and also it would not be possible to take the body off of the chassis again, so in the end i mounted some brass rod in the base of the skirts and glued the plough’s to those i think that the weathering takes your eye’s off of that!.

Heljan !

What is interesting in this picture is that even though the engine seems in a run down state ,closer inspection will show you that the top of the firebox and other areas still have a shine to the paint work !

Now that's a challange !.

Coal Tank.
Another engine beautifully built by Ken Payne that came to me for weathering. LNWR Coal Tank 7841, the photo’s showed the loco being used on passenger workings of the day and in a relatively good condition but with the obvious results of a days work before the cleaners could get to it again.

These two beautiful loco’s were left with me by Stephen Fay for weathering , the A4 is one of the Golden Age Models R-T-R loco’s with DCC on-board and also sound – very nice indeed, the Castle 5043 was built for Steve by Paul Hannah and is truly a magnificent model and runs as sweetly as a Swiss watch, it is always nice to work on quality and this is a fine example of Churchwards Best.
